Traveler Between Worlds

In July 2013, Jo Patti Munisteri lost her son Denali and his father Marty Schmidt on K2. Then in December 2015, while working together in Afghanistan for a USAID project on education, her good friend and teammate Lisa Marie Akbari was fatally shot in Kabul. What followed was not a retreat from the world, but a deeper movement into it through continued work in conflict zones and then an inner journey with plant medicines through VETs in Mexico.Jo's path in life includes Sundancing with the Lakota and Menominee, living and working with Indigenous tribes in Australia, New Zealand and Alaska, winter martial arts training with the Shaolin in China, and continued work in post trauma treatments while posted to Ukraine, Israel, Armenia, Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries.Traveler Between Worlds is a memoir about how a woman endures suffering and grief when she refuses to let it limit her life's calling.This is a companion to Jo's first non-fiction book, "Traveling Off the X' and her poetry book, "CLASH-Poems From Conflict Zones" by Jo Patti with artwork by her son, Denali Schmidt.
